RSV

Here is sweet Gracie taking a breathing treatment, it makes her really tired by the time we are done!
She has been such a trouper, when they tested her she cried when they swabbed her nose and throat but not when they pricked her finger, she really cried when 2 nurses held her down for the steroid shots, I wanted to cry to!

She has been so snugly

Yes it's true my little Gracie has RSV, I didn't want to mention that she got horribly sick at the cabin on Saturday night. First she started throwing up, then a fever, then cough, on Sunday still the high fever and cough, by Monday morning she was croupy and wheezing I had a bad feeling then we took her to the Rexburg Medical Center on the way home, they tested her for RSV and other virus she actually tested negative then but he told me she was close to it but that she had the croup and a upper virus of some sorts they gave her steroid shots and told me to take her to her regular doctor in a few days. Tuesday she went to my parents house and seemed fine most the day and night, by midnight she had a fever and was wheezing again I took her to Dr. Graham and he walked in the door and said if that is not an RSV baby then it is a carbon copy of one so we tested and sure enough positive, she was taking big gasps of air and then taking big fast breaths, so we had to make a decision on keeping her there or going home she had been breathing really fast like 65- 72 beats a min. which was way to fast he decided to give her a breathing treatment and see how she did, it seemed to help some so we decided to take the machine home and do 3 treatments and let him know if they worked, so what Dr. gives out his cell and home # and says call anytime and we will admit her if she is not better, I love Dr. Graham. I forgot to mention Maylee spent 5 days in the hospital with RSV when she was 7 months Braden got it 3 days later, also we got a call from Aunt Ami and Breken got RSV on Sunday they were in Salt Lake for the weekend so he spent the night in Primary Children's he is doing better and as we talk it seems Gracie is about 2 days behind him in the progress of getting better. Anyways Dr. Graham sent the machine and a prescription for her ear infection that she developed, so poor little Gracie is in isolation for a couple weeks. I forgot to mention 1 small detail we are babysitting Rachel and Becca (Jeff's little cousins) this week while there parents are on a much deserved cruise, so we have been disinfecting and keeping things separate as best as we can, Dr. Graham said they were old enough to not get it so we have just been trying to keep everyone apart. Gracie seemed to feel better today she actually got on the floor and crawled around for awhile. So here we go on to the road of healing we have been so lucky this season to not have much sickness, hopefully she can kick it and recover quick! Gracie is almost 10 months old she weighed 19 pounds 14 ounces!

Char,
I am so sorry she is not feeling well. I hate the RSV, both my girls had it when they were little. It's not fun to see them struggle. I love Dr. Graham. He is awesome! Let me know if I can help you with ANYTHING!!!

Snuggle her down and give her lots of TLC (I know that's hard with four other little ones running around). I think hugs and smooches are the cure for just about anything. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry that your baby has RSV! McKade and Hallie both had that too. Hallie was hospitalized, and we had bought a nebulizer to give her treatments. So, when McKade got it, we knew what to do. :D That nebulizer has come in handy. In fact, I gave McKade a breathing treatment this month when he was sick. It helped. He missed quite a few days of school this month, and Macy has had strep all weekend! I can't wait for spring and get some fresh air!!
Hope everyone gets feeling better at your house. :D I am sure you are exhausted.

Hey Char,
I totally understand, Brogie has to do his nebulizer treatments everyday to maintain his asthma! It stinks, but they get used to it. He has a sinus infection and an ear infection if that makes you feel any better! Oh and I still can't believe Brittney swallowed a guitar pic!!!! BFF

HEY CHAR
GIVE THAT GRACIE A HUG FROM AUNT DEBBIE. THAT IS A AWFUL THING FOR BOTH THE CHILD AND PARENTS TO GO THRU. CORY'S KIDS ARE SICK ALSO

SO EVERYONE WASH YOUR HANDS EVERY HALF HOUR AROUND THE WAKING HOURS.
AND THEN SPRAY LYSOL ON ALL DOORS,SINK HANDLES,TOILET HANDLES & LIDS ,LIGHT SWITCHES,PHONES,TOYS, KEYBOARDS
AND ANY OTHER THINGS YOU BECOME AWARE OF THAT YOU TOUCH OR THEY CAN TOUCH ALSO USE PAPER CUPS, AND PLATES IF POSSIBLE.
WE AS ADULTS CAN GET RSV BUT IT DOESN'T EFFECT US LIKE A BABY OR SMALL CHILD. IT IS LIKE YOU HAVE A BAD COLD.
I HOPE YOUR SWEET FAMILY RECOVERS FAST. I LOVE YA GIRL
HUGS

I'm glad she is doing better. I know how you fell right now. I can't wait until we can sleep more than 3 hours with out Breken having a cough attack, but life goes on. I'm impressed that Gracie lets you put the mask on like that, Breken will rip it off if we do the treatments while he is awake. Take care. Love ya.
